The challenge: ensuring FINREP/COREP consistency before submission to the regulator
For a major listed French bank, regulatory reporting is a critical issue. FINREP and COREP frameworks — as well as operational risk calculations (AMA), RWA Equity, or analyses on Restructured Non-Performing Loans (SIR) — are produced on short cycles, with near-zero tolerance for error.
One of the structural pain points concerns inter-reporting controls: consistency between FINREP and COREP figures must be guaranteed before submission. Any inconsistency between these two reports immediately triggers questions from the supervisor — leading to lost time, reputational risk, and additional workload for the teams.
These controls, historically performed manually (Excel, VBA), consumed significant resources from the Finance teams — with 350 control points to validate each cycle.

Our Approach: Three Pillars for Sustainable Reporting Industrialization
Prime Analytics supported the Finance and Regulatory Reporting Department in a progressive industrialization initiative, centered around Alteryx as the sole transformation engine.
1. Automation of 350 Inter-reporting Controls
Complete migration of FINREP/COREP controls from Excel/VBA chains to auditable and reproducible Alteryx workflows, executed in minutes compared to several days previously.
2. Progressive Expansion to Other Critical Reporting
As maturity increased, the scope expanded to other projects: advanced measurement approach (AMA) operational risk calculation, controls on RWA Equity calculation, roll-out of RWA Credit and EAD methodology monitoring by entity and portfolio, aggregation and comparison of SIR portfolios, and FINREP analytical review for consolidation.
3. Large-scale Training
A support and upskilling program for 110 employees from the Finance and Reporting teams on Alteryx — to ensure the transformation continues autonomously within the internal teams.
Before / After
The industrialization of controls transformed a risky manual cycle into an automated, auditable, and team-adopted process.
• Inter-reporting Controls : shifted from manual operations on Excel and VBA to 350 automated controls on Alteryx, repeatable each cycle. went from 6 man-days to by report and by entity — a production ratio divided by 50.
• Production Time : shifted from long cycles to 99% time reduction within the automated scope, freeing up Finance teams for higher-value analysis.
• Operational Risk : shifted from high human risk to an end-to-end auditable, from the source file to the reporting submitted to the regulator.
• Alteryx Maturity : shifted from expertise concentrated among a few experts to 110 trained and autonomous employees.
— Beyond the initial 350 controls, the entire Regulatory Reporting function has been industrialized — AMA, RWA, SIR, FINREP analytical review.
Our consultants industrialize your critical processes: FINREP, COREP, RWA, IFRS 9.
Automation, training, knowledge transfer: a lasting transformation, implemented autonomously by your teams.
A lasting transformation, implemented autonomously
The program is a long-term initiative: the Regulatory Reporting function now has industrial-grade tools, trained teams, and a roadmap for expansion to other reporting areas (IFRS 9, ESG, NSFR/LCR). Technical reliance on the consulting firm was progressively reduced as internal maturity increased.
Prime Analytics was instrumental in achieving the mission's objectives on time, and most importantly, enabled substantial production time savings for the Finance and Regulatory Reporting teams.“With Prime Analytics, we were able to get this project up and running in just a few days. Their knowledge of Alteryx and their technical expertise allowed us to move quickly and obtain greater precision than we expected. This model has made us gain in reliability, speed and autonomy.”
