The Challenge: Modernizing an Analytics Foundation, Unlocking AI Use Cases
For a retail bank integrated into a large European banking group, customer knowledge is a strategic asset. However, the existing analytics foundation relied on a heterogeneous assembly — monolithic R code difficult to maintain, scattered data, and non-homogeneous processes.
Three structural obstacles stood in the way: a lack of agility in the face of increasing analytical demands, a limited capacity to industrialize AI use cases, and restricted governance regarding model traceability, auditability, and explainability.
The challenge wasn't just to produce better results. It was to build an analytics platform on which internal teams could build autonomously.

Our Approach: One Foundation, Three Use Cases, Skill Development
Prime Analytics supported the bank on three complementary projects. At each stage, the objective was twofold: to deliver immediate operational results and to transfer mastery of the tools to internal teams.
1. Implementation of a Unified Analytics Foundation
Construction of a Self-Service Analytics platform on Alteryx, designed to be adopted by business teams without permanent reliance on a single expert.
2. Unsupervised Machine Learning Customer Segmentation
Development of an initial behavioral segmentation solution for the Retail scope, based on K-Means algorithms. Construction of Alteryx workflows to determine the optimal number of clusters from quarterly aggregated transactional and behavioral data.
3. Internal Corporate Credit Default Risk Model
Industrialization of an internal rating system, executable autonomously by risk teams within timelines compatible with operational management.
Before / After
The transformation is reflected as much in execution times as in the analytical capabilities now available to business teams.
•Deterministic Segmentation : transitioned from monolithic, hard-to-maintain R code to an automated workflow executed in seconds — a time saving of 99.7%. went from 6 man-days to by report and by entity — a production ratio divided by 50.
•ML Behavioral Segmentation : new capability built from scratch, executed in 27 seconds based on industrialized K-Means algorithms — a level of customer analysis now accessible to marketing teams.
•Corporate Credit Default Risk : transitioned from rudimentary models to an internal scoring system executed in less than one minute — aligned with local regulatory requirements and operable by risk teams.
— Three use cases. A single Self-Service platform. Business teams now autonomously extending the foundation. The modernization of the analytical foundation unlocked new customer analysis capabilities, while reducing execution times by a hundredfold.
Our consultants specialize in Machine Learning, customer segmentation, risk scoring, and model industrialization.
From analytical foundation to production: a partnership focused on operational results.
A new analytical capability, operated autonomously
Beyond the three deliverables, the project established a new analytical culture within the bank: self-service for business teams, in-house Machine Learning experience gained, and strengthened model governance. Today, use cases continue to be expanded internally, based on the deployed Alteryx foundation.
Prime Analytics' contribution was central to optimizing the segmentation process and improving customer knowledge. This mission was conducted professionally and diligently, within the agreed deadlines.“With Prime Analytics, we were able to get this project up and running in just a few days. Their knowledge of Alteryx and their technical expertise allowed us to move quickly and obtain greater precision than we expected. This model has made us gain in reliability, speed and autonomy.”
