To transition from sample-based controls—covering less than 1% of verified files—to comprehensive coverage of its entire scope, a major French bank tasked Prime Analytics with industrializing the monitoring of over- and under-billed client fees. This was a high-stakes issue with significant regulatory and financial implications: an estimated legal risk of over 11 million euros loomed over undetected discrepancies.

The Challenge: From Sample-Based to Comprehensive Control
For a major French bank, controlling customer-billed fees is a critical regulatory challenge: any undetected discrepancy between fees actually applied and fees due exposes them to legal, financial, and reputational risk.
Before the project, this control relied on manual sampling in Excel, covering less than 1% of files. Within a scope of over 900,000 files, the unverified portion represented an estimated legal risk of over 11 million euros in the event of a dispute.
The challenge was twofold: to transition from sample-based control to comprehensive control, and to ensure rapid adoption of the solution by non-technical teams, without prolonged reliance on the consulting firm.

Prime Analytics designed and deployed an automated control framework on Alteryx, structured around three key principles:

Industrialization enabled the Risk teams to transition from symbolic coverage to a robust, comprehensive, and defensible control system.
• Coverage : increased from less than 1% of files to a comprehensive control over 100% of the scope — meaning 900,000 files processed per cycle. went from 6 man-days to by report and by entity — a production ratio divided by 50.
• Tooling : replaced Excel and ad-hoc processes with auditable Alteryx workflows, reproducible and defensible to the regulator.
• Production Cycle : reduced from 24 weeks to 6 weeks — a report produced four times faster.
Technical Dependency : moved from a strong reliance on experts to autonomous business teams, trained and capable of operating the system themselves.
