About Cellnex Telecom
Cellnex Telecom is Europe’s leading independent operator of wireless telecommunications infrastructure. The group designs, deploys, and operates telecommunications towers, small cells, DAS, IoT connectivity infrastructure, and fiber networks. Present in a dozen European countries, Cellnex operates tens of thousands of sites.
In France, Cellnex has experienced rapid growth in recent years through successive acquisitions. This momentum has been a commercial accelerator—but it has also left behind a particularly complex data legacy.
The challenge: inheriting a triple merger and its shadow IT
Merging three entities isn't just about integrating three teams. It also means: - Three distinct application landscapes, with different formats, rules, master data, and tools - Three heterogeneous databases where the same concepts are modeled differently - Three usage cultures built up over time in dozens of Excel files, VBA macros, and SQL scripts—the infamous shadow IT - Three closing schedules that are sometimes out of sync.
In practical terms, preparing data from multiple sources was consuming 80% of the data teams' time.
As Clémence Camus, Data Analytics Engineer at Cellnex, summed it up: “Our teams were spending a considerable amount of time in Excel or using intermediate scripts to clean, align, and cross-reference data. It was time-consuming, difficult to audit, and there was a constant risk of human error. We were missing out on actual analysis because 80% of our effort was focused on simple technical preparation.”

Our philosophy: industrialize preparation, centralize storage
Cellnex chose Snowflake as its single data warehouse, fed by Alteryx upstream. Prime Analytics provided support at three levels:
1. Target architecture consulting — defining a unified data architecture that integrates Alteryx for ingestion and Snowflake for centralization, with operational governance designed for the long term.
2. Alteryx Server licensing and deployment — moving from isolated Alteryx Designer usage to a Server deployment that enables workflow scheduling and industrialization.
3. Training and upskilling — supporting Finance and Data teams to ensure they are fully autonomous.
The “so what” for your organization
If your organization has recently undergone a merger or rapid external growth, do not try to integrate data into legacy infrastructure. First, take the step toward a unified target architecture.
Our experts support your teams at every stage: data architecture, automation, AI, visualization, and more.
Practical solutions tailored to your business challenges.
Alteryx for ingestion, Snowflake for centralization
Alteryx acts as the ingestion engine—connecting natively to legacy sources, extracting, preparing, and pushing data into Snowflake.
Snowflake standardizes storage and exposes data to the business.
Alteryx Server automatically schedules workflows, primarily overnight.
As Mokhtar Bichiou (Prime Analytics) puts it: > “At Prime, our goal was truly to secure and stabilize this data factory. By shifting heavy processing to the night using Alteryx Server scheduling, we ensure Snowflake is fed continuously without impacting daily tool performance.”
The “so what” Many organizations underutilize Alteryx Server. That is a strategic mistake. Server does more than just automate—it shifts the Data team’s role from executors to supervisors.

Looking ahead: Alteryx One, observability, and generative AI
“Today, we cover 80% of our critical workflows with this architecture. Processes that used to take several days a month are now handled completely seamlessly. We estimate the time savings for the Data team at several days per month.”
