The challenge: transitioning from artisanal production to industrial capacity
In a large universal bank, report production — both regulatory and business-specific — relied on a combination of manual tools (Excel, Access, VBA) and ad-hoc processes, spread across fragmented teams. The result: long cycles, inconsistent quality, a strong reliance on a few experts, and a high risk of non-compliance in regulatory areas.
The challenge was not just to automate a few reports, but to build an industrial-scale analytical production capability, capable of absorbing the growing demands from the Finance, Risk, and Compliance departments — without compromising quality or traceability.

Our approach: three teams, one engine, one shared standard
Prime Analytics assisted the bank in creating a Shared Services Center organized into three complementary teams.
1. Business Intelligence Team (onshore + offshore)
Automation of low-value-added tasks, transition from Excel/Access/VBA to Alteryx.
2. Large-scale Self-Service Team (offshore + nearshore)
Expanded capacity to handle cross-functional projects: IFRS 9, AnaCredit, RWA Explain, Management Accounting Reporting System, Basel IV Credit Risk, CIB HR Reporting, G-SIB, Forborne Exposures.
3. Finance Reporting Team (onshore + offshore)
Specializing in critical reporting processes, automation, and the gradual decommissioning of legacy tools.
Before / After
The creation of the Shared Services Center transformed a fragmented setup into an industrial capability, able to simultaneously handle multi-domain projects. From a few pilot licenses to an international analytical community, this trajectory illustrates a deep adoption of analytics by business functions. The contrast between the historical chain and the industrialized chain illustrates the extent of the transformation, carried out in less than 10 weeks.
• Production Model : transitioned from fragmented, manual production (Excel, Access, VBA) to a shared industrial framework, centered around Alteryx as a single engine. : evolved from a few Finance experts to Alteryx users across multiple functions and geographies. went from 6 man-days to by report and by entity — a production ratio divided by 50.
• Absorption capacity : transitioned from a few serial projects to dozens of projects run in parallel by the 3 teams of the Center.
• Production speed : transitioned from a team-dependent pace to a 40% gain in report production.
• Compliance : transitioned from a heterogeneous risk to 100% compliance on the covered scope, with full traceability.
— From a standard approach to true industrial capacity, without disruption for business teams.
Our consultants design and manage Self-Service Analytics Shared Services Centers, covering Finance, Risk, and Regulatory Reporting.
Onshore, nearshore, offshore: a modular system, operated to the highest standard.
An industrial-scale analytical production capability
The Shared Services Center enabled the bank to produce its reports — regulatory, HR, Finance, Risk — 40% faster, with 100% compliance within the covered scope. Legacy tools (Excel, Access, VBA) are progressively being decommissioned, in favor of documented, governed, and defensible Alteryx workflows.
Beyond the immediate gains, the system created a new production capability: business lines now know they can launch a new automation project with a dedicated team, within controlled timelines, without relying on individual experts.
The Center is now a foundational asset for the bank, which it manages autonomously for its recurring projects and progressively extends to new scopes and functions.
Beyond a few automated reports, we gained a new analytical production capability. The Shared Services Center transformed our approach to analytical production: what was basic has become industrialized.“With Prime Analytics, we were able to get this project up and running in just a few days. Their knowledge of Alteryx and their technical expertise allowed us to move quickly and obtain greater precision than we expected. This model has made us gain in reliability, speed and autonomy.”
